Preston to make it hell for Del
PRESTON warned Adel Taarabt he faces another rough ride at Deepdale today.
The QPR skipper has hit 14 goals this term and been hailed as the Championship's player of the season so far.
But the Moroccan sulked in the leaders' 0-0 draw at Hull last month when the tough-tackling home side gave him a torrid time.
And Preston midfielder Adam Barton admitted: "He likes to get on the ball and do things - but as we saw in the Hull game, if you get stuck into him he won't like it.
"The earlier we do that the better it will be for us. I'm sure every player will want to be in his face.
"He has the quality to be the best player in this league and could maybe play at a higher level.
"But we have to find a way to stop him."
Rock-bottom Preston are still looking for a first win after eight games under Phil Brown.
And the Deepdale boss reckons his side need to win 10 of their last 16 games to have a chance of beating the drop.
But Brown insisted: "There's no half-heartedness about us at the moment. We are going into a 16 game period of cup finals but they are all winnable."
Derry hails QPR's answer to Maradona
QPR midfielder Shaun Derry believes his side will have a healthy advantage over Preston when the sides meet at Deepdale on Saturday - as they have a Maradona impersonator in their ranks.
Derry is protector-in-chief of Rangers' enigmatic playmaker Adel Taarabt and, after playing against the Moroccan last season, he has some sympathy for Phil Brown's men ahead of this weekend's clash.

QPR stars risk Adel Taarabt fine
QPR players have been told they will be fined £250 every time they pass to Adel Taarabt in their own half.
Boss Neil Warnock laughed off the idea – but admitted he used the threat part joking, part seriously during training sessions.
But insiders were not so sure.
One claimed the Hoops gaffer is determined the mercurial Moroccan’s skills will only be employed at the opposition’s end of the pitch.
The source said: "It’s common knowledge among the players. And although no one’s quite sure if the manager means it – no one’s going to risk finding out."
Warnock agreed the Hoops highest scorer’s tricks on the ball were needed only in the final third.
He said: "We’ve said about the Adel fine out loud – but it’s part of the banter that goes on when we’re with the squad in training."

Blackburn Rovers plot ambitious Taarabt bid
Adel Taarabt has emerged as a potential target for Blackburn Rovers Football Club.
Since they were taken over by Indian business The Venky’s Group earlier this season, the Lancashire club have been linked with a number of top names.
Indeed, in January they tried to lure Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho from Milan, and his compatriot Luis Fabiano from Sevilla, albeit without success.
It is now being suggested that amongst Rovers targets for the summer window is Taarabt, who has been sensational for Queens Park Rangers this season.
The Londoners are currently leading the Championship table as we approach the business end of the campaign, and promotion would likely keep the 21-year-old at Loftus Road.
In the event Taarabt did decide to leave, though, he is almost certain to only do so for a team in European competition, which would rule out a switch to Ewood Park.

Chelsea Consider Move to Sign £9m Rated QPR Playmaker Adel Taarabt
Chelsea are considering a move to sign QPR’s star performer Adel Taarabt as Carlo Ancelotti looks to inject some youth into his ageing squad. The Moroccan international has been in sparkling form at the Loftus Road club and has previously been linked with interest from both Manchester United and Newcastle.
Interest from the Premier League champions comes after R’s boss Neil Warnock admitted he may not be able to keep the 21 year old at the club if a big club made their interest known. The former Lens man had a frustrating time at White Hart Lane and found footballing salvation whilst on loan at QPR and secured a permanent deal to move to West London last August.
Taarabt was named captain by Warnock and has not looked back and has been in breathtaking form netting 14 goals and assisting another dozen QPR goals to take the club top of the table. His performances have not gone unnoticed and a number of top tier club’s have sent scouts to monitor the attacking midfielder.
Chelsea are now among those interested parties and Ancelotti is reportedly preparing a move to bring the QPR man to Stamford Bridge as he looks to freshen things up at the club. Moves to build a new generation of talent have already begun with the signings of Fernando Torres and David Luiz last month and a number of other players have been linked with summer moves to the club.
A number of Chelsea’s older statesman could well be heading for a Blues exit with the likes of Florent Malouda, Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba all being linked with moves away from the club.
QPR will try to fight off advances for Taarabt but may struggle to keep the youngster from having his head turned by such interest, regardless of whether he helps his side into the top tier.

QPR boss Warnock hints Taarabt could be sold
QPR boss Neil Warnock admits the talent of Adel Taarabt has changed his thinking over such creative players.
But he admits he may be forced to sell the former Tottenham midfielder in the summer.
Warnock knows he might not be able to afford the luxury of such an attacking player if his side reach the Premier League.
He said: “Five years ago I wouldn’t have had a Taarabt in my team because of formations and being solid.
“He’d be gone by now. I don’t think I could tolerate him if we were in the bottom half.
“I don’t think I’d have the patience and I’d have been wrong. He has proved that he can contribute to the team, whereas when I first came here I thought he was an out-and-out individual.”
The questions QPR must answer
QPR fans went to Loftus Road at the weekend expecting to learn whether Neil Warnock's team really is set for automatic promotion. A win against Nottingham Forest – who'd won their six previous Championship games and are unbeaten since a 1-0 loss at Leicester in November – and the Rs would surely be mentally celebrating promotion. A loss and the race for the two automatic slots would have been wide open, and Forest would have become favourites for the title. But a 1-1 draw against a side who sat back and soaked up pressure after having a man sent off? It told us next to nothing.
Instead we're still pondering these questions:
1) Are QPR a one-man team?

We can't rely on Adel Taarabt all the time, Bradley Orr tells QPR
Bradley Orr has called on Queens Park Rangers' strikers to step up to ease the burden on star manAdel Taarabt.
The Moroccan has been an inspiration for the Championship leaders but made little impact yesterday as Rangers were held 1-1 by 10-man Nottingham Forest.
Tommy Smith had given the hosts the lead but a straight red card for Forest's Radoslaw Majewski for a foul on Taarabt only served to fire up the visitors.
There was a touch of good fortune about David McGoldrick's equaliser but

Sporting Lisbon eye move for QPR midfield maestro Adel Taarabt
Sporting Lisbon are reportedly eying a summer swoop for QPR midfield maestro Adel Taarabt .
According to Portuguese sources, Sporting have been following the Moroccan for some time, and with great interest.
The 21-year-old former Tottenham player has been a sensation for the Championship leaders in their promotion push this season, and has apparently also sparked interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.
He has scored 14 goals and set up 10 this term, giving him a staggering efficiency ratio of a goal or assist every 99.63 minutes.

QPR boss makes Taarabt admission
Adel Taarabt
The Warnock that started in a dugout 20 years ago could not have handled the histrionics of a talented midfielder that pinnacled in an extraordinary outburst during the 0-0 at Hull on Saturday.
Home fans revelled in Taarabt’s tantrum singing: ‘where’s your dummy gone?’
However, the Moroccan international atoned when he broke the deadlock in the 2-0 win over Portsmouth on Tuesday – but after his hell in Hull where he lashed into his own players, refused to play for a couple of minutes and then demanded to be substituted – it took all of Warnock’s 12-club experience and 62 years to calm his man down.
The manager said: "I’d agree with the idea that not many managers could have handled that. Listen. If I’d been younger I couldn’t have handled it.
"It’s like walking a tightrope with

Jem's mission to outshine Taarabt in Madejski battle
Adel Taarabt had better watch out at the Madejski tonight if Reading midfielder Jem Karacan comes into view.
The Turkey Under-21 international is still sore with the way the Queens Park Rangers captain undid the Royals at Loftus Road and wants revenge. He was also booked for a challenge on Taarabt and said: "If I had known I was going to get a booking I would have done something more serious. I didn't really touch him. We were too nice and maybe needed to put our feet in a bit more. I suppose he's [Taarabt] a bit hit and miss - this time he was a hit."
I would've axed Adel 20 years ago - Warnock
NEIL Warnock reckons that as a younger manager he would have suspended, fined, dropped or put QPR's Adel Taarabt on the transfer list.

Warnock pleased to retain Taarabt
Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock has expressed his delight the club were able to retain Adel Taarabt's services beyond the transfer window.
The talented playmaker was reportedly attracting interest from the Premier League big-guns in January, although the Loftus Road outfit managed to keep hold of his signature.Taarabt has been a crucial cog in the QPR wheel this term, helping Warnock's troops to top of the table with a five-point margin approaching the business end of the season

Adel Taarabt's fortune helps QPR to down Pompey's paupers
Queens Park Rangers still head this toughest of divisions courtesy of Adel Taarabt, the former Spurs midfielder who is surely heading back to the Premier League.
Fifty-nine minutes had passed when Taarabt ran at Portsmouth's defence before striking a 20-yard shot that slipped though Jamie Ashdown's fingers for the goal that swung the game. "I thought in first half he did all right and then he came in to it even more," said the Rangers manager Neil Warnock of the 21-year-old Moroccan
Warnock - No Utd move for star
Queens Park Rangers boss Neil Warnock has told Adel Taarabt to forget thinking about a possible move to Manchester United.
The Moroccan playmaker recently claimed United were keeping tabs on his progress at Loftus Road.
Former Tottenham man Taarabt has been in scintillating form for QPR this season, helping them to the top of the Championship.
Warnock claims United came to watch Taarabt during last weekend's goalless draw at Hull City when the skilful attacker
showed his moody side as he bickered with his team-mates and asked to be substituted during the first half of the game.
Rangers chief Warnock has warned Taarabt he may have blown his chance of a move to United and he is delighted as it means he will end up staying at Loftus Road.
"He let himself down on Saturday," said Warnock.
"United came to watch him and he had a strop. I said on the bus that's done that, hasn't it?
"He can forget about joining United. I'm delighted because it means we've no chance of losing him now."
