ORR: 'TARBS IS SUPER-TALENTED'

Bradley Orr believes Rangers will reap the rewards of the news that Adel Taarabt is staying at the Club.

The R's skipper made his first bow of pre-season in our 1-0 defeat to Cesena on Wednesday night and Orr is relishing the chance to play alongside the mercurial Moroccan in the top-flight when the season kicks off in mid-August.
"Adel is super-talented and it was good to see him back out there," Orr told www.qpr.co.uk.

Adel Taarabt disappointed over failed transfer move to PSG

Adel Taarabt is disappointed to have seen a proposed move to Paris St-Germain break down.
The Queens Park Rangers playmaker appeared destined to complete a switch to the French capital once PSG made a formal approach.
Discussions were held between the two clubs and Taarabt's representative.
There was, however, to be a twist in the tale, with QPR announcing on Saturday that no agreement had been reached.
They claimed Taarabt would be staying at Loftus Road for the 2010/11 campaign and was fully committed to the Premier League new boys.
The 22 year old sees the matter slightly differently, though, and has aired his frustration at how a lengthy transfer saga has played out.
"I want to go to Paris, but if it is not sorted out this weekend then it won't happen," Taarabt told L'Equipe. "The QPR board are fed up with the situation. This has gone on for two months."
Asked how he feels about having seen a move collapse, Taarabt said: "Of course it is disappointing, because I wanted to come [to Paris St-Germain]. The project interests me a lot.
In England, I will earn more money, but Paris is the capital of France. If I exploded on to the scene there, it could be extraordinary. It felt like fate would take me to PSG. Paris was a great opportunity
Paris St-Germain are not staying still and are ready to rival Chelsea for the signature of Palermo playmaker Javier Pastore.
Maurizio Zamparini, the president of the Sicilian club, has told Italian television that PSG are contenders along with Chelsea for the 22 year old's services.
The Parisians, recently taken over by the Qatar Investment Authority, have emerged as big-hitters in the transfer market this summer and Zamparini said it is between them and Chelsea for the Argentina international.
"[PSG sporting director] Leonardo called me and told me he was very interested in Pastore," Zamparini said on SkySport 24.
"On Tuesday, we have a meeting with his agent. PSG and Chelsea are the two teams in the lead on this issue. There are one or two opportunities in Spain, but either way, he will not stay in Italy."
Pastore was instrumental as Palermo finished eighth in Serie A last season and reached the final of the Coppa Italia, in which they lost to Inter Milan.

Taarabt PSG deal on verge of collapse

Adel Taarabt

talkSPORT understands Paris Saint Germain's deal to sign QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt is on the verge of collapse.
The Morroccan midfielder seemed set to leave Loftus Road after Rangers accepted a bid from the Ligue 1 side.
Now though there appears to be a difference in how the structure of the deal will take shape with Neil Warnock's side wanting £10million up front (rising to £15m) whilst the French side are only prepared to offer £6m for the former Tottenham man.

QPR boss wants six new players and still holds Taarabt hope

QPR boss Neil Warnock has confirmed he is hoping to bring in midfielder Jimmy Bullard as he looks to make up to six new signings prior to the new season.

The Championship winners have yet to dip into the transfer market this summer with Warnock admitting that financial restrictions have hampered his efforts so far.
Despite the vast personal wealth of the Loftus Road club's owners, Bernie Ecclestone, Flavio Briatore and Lakshmi Mittal, their experienced manager is working within a budget prior to their return to Premier League action.
The lack of movement so far has proved to be a frustration for the former Sheffield United and Crystal Palace manager, but he remains confident new faces will be forthcoming.

For Adel, now is the time to stay

Football has long had a dysfunctional relationship with the English language. No more so than during the frantic close season transfer market. It is around now that words change meaning entirely. When Gael Clichy, for instance, insists that he left Arsenal because they didn't "love" him enough, we quickly realise that in this instance the word "love" actually means "pay". And when we hear that Carlos Tevez is desperate to leave Manchester in order to be closer to his daughters, what that actually means is "be closer to another vast signing-on fee".
But no word changes its meaning quite as much as "adviser". This is a word which those of us outside the game take to denote someone who offers wisdom, provides information relevant to our position and impartially helps us to reach a conclusion of our own that is in our best interests. In football, however, it means a parasite whose sole purpose and intent is to leach as much money as possible in as short a space of time, regardless of the longer term consequences.
Take the case of Adel Taarabt. The Queen's Park Rangers captain, the player who

Two days after capturing Arsenal defender Gael Clichy it is being reported that Manchester City are now poised to sign midfielder Samir Nasri in a £19m deal, that the Daily Mail says is "close to completion". The news is a bitter blow for Arsene Wenger, who did not want to lose the French midfielder in the first place and was adamant that he did not want him to go to another Premier League club.
But as the Mail points out City's two main rivals for Nasri's signature were Chelsea and

Queens Park Rangers have been handed a major blow after manager Neil Warnock admitted that he expects captain Adel Taarabt will leave the club this summer.
Taarabt played a huge part in helping the club win promotion to the Premier League last season but has his heart set on leaving Loftus Road and won't be playing a part in helping them stay in the top flight.
Paris St-Germain have already made a £13.5million bid for the 22-year-old midfielder, while

Exclusive - Bircham: 'There's more to QPR than just Taarabt'

Marc Bircham has told talkSPORT that there is more to Queens Park Rangers than just Adel Taarabt.
The 22-year-old Moroccan has been strongly linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain who are belived to be willing to part with around £13m for his services, with many claiming Rangers wouldn’t stand a chance of Premier League survival without their gifted talisman.
But Loftus Road legend Bircham reckons there is much more to Neil Warnock’s squad than that, saying: “[Adel Taarabt] was just a piece in the jigsaw. We have players like Paddy Kenny who won Players Player of the Year and Fans Player of the Year so he was just as big a part of it.
Adel Taarabt did fantastic last year but it was the foundations of the team that let him express himself.Marc Bircham
“Some of the other lads have done fantastic this year as well, Ali Faurlin, Clint Hill and Shaun Derry. They did just as well, they were magnificent. If you looked at QPR we were a very solid team.

Atletico Madrid meet with agent of QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt - report

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to a number of European clubs due to a contract dispute with the recently promoted side leaving his Loftus Road future in doubt

Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in Queens Park Rangers midfielder Abel Taarabt, with the player's agent having reportedly been spotted in the Spanish capital.

The 22-year-old was named Championship Player of the Season in 2010-11, leading the London side to promotion to the Premier League, scoring 19 goals and assisting in 23 more in 44 games.

Despite this a contract dispute related to money has thrown the Moroccan's future into doubt, with a Paris St Germain thought to have made a £10 million bid for the attacking midfielder.

However, AS reports that the player's representative was seen at the Vicente Calderon yesterday in a meeting with Jose Caminero, the La Liga side's sporting director.

A fee of around £10.8m million is reportedly needed to activate a release clause in the former Tottenham man's contract as speculation persists over his future at Loftus Road.

QPR fight to hang on to Taarabt as Paris St Germain launch £13.5m swoop

Premier League new boys QPR could lose star man Adel Taarabt after Paris St Germain tabled a £13.5million bid for the Morocco playmaker.
The 22-year-old was instrumental in the Hoops promotion success from the Championship scoring 19 goals in 44 outings, landing Neil Warnock’s men the title last season.
Warnock will not want to lose the former Tottenham star this summer but Taarabt may find the lure of the Qatari-rich French outfit too strong to resist.
Up and away: Paris St Germain have moved in for QPR playmaker Taarabt

It is understood PSG boss Antoine Kombouare has identified Taarabt as his top transfer target and money is no option following the recent takeover of the wealthy Qatar Investment Authority.
