QPR’s Adel Taarabt confirms, “I had contact with Arsenal and Chelsea”

Adel Taarabt

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt confirmed that Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea have made contact ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
The Moroccan is quoted as saying to L’Equipe that
he is yet to take a decision on his future as it will be very difficult to secure a regular place with the Gunners if captain Cesc Fabregas stays at the Club with Chelsea yet to appoint a new manager after sacking Carlo Ancelotti after last season’s disappointing campaign.
The 22-year old did however conclude by saying that staying with Queens Park Rangers is a possibility as they aim for a top ten finish in the Premier League.
Next season will be the youngster’s second spell in the top flight after a disappointing campaign with Tottenham Hotspur under Juande Ramos in which he enjoyed less than ten appearances for his club.

On his future, he said:
QPR will demand £10million for me, and for now, the clubs do not move too much.
I had contact with Arsenal and Chelsea, but it is a little muddled [difficult]. Arsenal have not yet sold [Cesc] Fabregas, and as for Chelsea, they do not yet have a coach, so we will see.
I would like to stay in London – it is the best city in the world, and with Queens Park Rangers? Why not? When I talked with the coach, he told me the club would aim to be in the top eight.
